Hello out there!

I guess I could have tried blogging sooner than now...but I didn't.

So I have a month and one week before I get home!!! I'm so ready to get home, but it will be hard to leave China and all the people I have met here.

China is very entertaining. It's different than America, but not so different that I feel like I'm on an alien planet. The drivers here are crazy. One of the first things we learned was that pedestrians DO NOT have the right of way. You'll die if you're in that mindset. Also, there aren't any realy traffic laws. They'll have a red light and you'll have a green pedestrian light, but you'll still have to dodge at least three cars to get across the road.

The food is amazing!! It's intimidating at first, but once you get over the fact that you found a chicken's spine in your potatoes and carrots, the food is so good! I'll miss authentic Chinese food, but I'm excited to get home and eat American Chinese food...glazed in sugary goodness.

Let's see...I work about 15 hours a week not including prep hours, but that doesn't take much time depending on what I'm teaching and how much effort I really want to put into it. Bum....

Schedule:
7:15 a.m.--Wake up and get ready
8:30 a.m.-- Be in the class room and set up the tables
8:45 a.m.--Begin "Opening". This is when we talk about the date, weather, and sing songs with the students
9:00-11:15 a.m.--Teach teach teach!
11:30 a.m.-bedtime--Eat, do whatever, prepare, eat, sleep.

Exciting, right? I love everyday. The kids can be a little overwhelming, but it's fun to laugh at them. I've grown to love them and I know I'll miss them when I leave. I'll miss my ILP group for sure. We get along pretty well other than a little bit of drama, but I'm so "la-tee-da" that I never get involved.

Sorry I can't post any pics! I don't know why that's not an option on my blogger in China. I was really hoping to share some of my favorite pics! Instead you have to read...reading is so boring. It's okay if you just skim over this and not really read it. That' what I usually do if there's no pics :)

Oh! And if you're ever wondering what time it is in China, just think the opposite time of day plus three hours. And I'm always ahead of you. So right now it is Tuesday, 1:03 a.m. in America, but in China it is Tuesday, 4:03 p.m. Opposite plus three.

Okay! I will write later...maybe. It's kind of pointless since I can't post pics...but you'll get my emails.

Love,
Alicia

Testing, testing...1,2,3?
